Soil, schools, capital, culture, health and policy all run through the same plate. This Hub gathers the ranchers, chefs, founders, investors, designers, scientists and civic leaders HATCH has met at the table, so the work each of us is doing alone can start moving together.
Meet the cohort, send anyone a note directly, and tell us what you are building, what you need and what you can offer. We read every answer and use them to make introductions, shape Labs and seat the next dinner.

HATCH Food Fellowship
An opportunity
There is an emerging opportunity to convene a HATCH Food Fellowship bringing together a small cohort of Indigenous, Latino, and other frontline food-system leaders with carefully curated partners across food, education, agriculture, philanthropy, policy, and storytelling.
The concept is still taking shape, but one promising model is a year-long fellowship with three virtual gatherings and one in-person working lab, designed to build trust, surface shared priorities, and help accelerate practical collaborations around nourishing children and strengthening culturally rooted food systems.
If the right partners and funding come together, the Fellowship could support frontline leaders with relationships, resources, visibility, and potential pathways to pilots, partnerships, and co-funding.
The intention is not to create another conference, but a focused working community that helps move important food-systems work forward.
There is so much happening in food right now with real opportunity for transformation.

Asks & Offers
Every ask and offer shared through the form lands here. See something you can help with, or something you need? Send a note and it goes straight to that person's inbox.
Have an ask or an offer? Add it in the form below. With your permission it appears here for the whole cohort.
Four threads carried forward from HATCH Catskills 2026 and our partnership work in nutrition and school food. Each one is open for co-authors.
From the Catskills FOOD Lab
Follow the value, not the food
Every pathology in the food system is downstream of a value decision made far from the table. The Lab asked a narrow question, and we are keeping it open here.
Find one place where value is created but not captured by the people or systems that created it, and design the smallest move that closes the gap.
School Food Design Lab
Farm to school, as identity
A working lab that pairs farmers, school-food leaders, policymakers and storytellers around one design challenge, and leaves with named commitments, pilots and co-funding concepts.
How might we design direct, lasting relationships between local farmers and school kitchens, so nourishing, locally grown food becomes part of children's identity rather than an occasional program?
Food Justice Fellowship
Co-authors, not guests
Fully sponsored seats at HATCH covering travel, lodging, meals and an honorarium, for practitioners on the front line of food justice. Fellows help shape the agenda of the food working group and leave with relationships and commitments they carry forward.
Know someone who belongs in that room? Nominate them in the form below.
HATCH Hubs
The rooms that do not exist yet
The farmer who grows the food meets the advocate who won the policy that gets it into schools. The chef who reimagined the cafeteria meets the funder who can scale what she built.
Hub dinners, site visits and small working sessions are how we build those rooms between Summits.
Have a thread this Hub should pull on? A lab, a pilot, a question worth a room of its own.
About ten minutes. Your answers go to the HATCH team, who use them to make introductions, match asks with offers, and design the next FOOD Lab. Nothing is published without your permission.

About the Hub
HATCH FOOD HUB
The food system has no shortage of intelligence. What it lacks is alignment. Ranchers, chefs, school-food leaders, investors, scientists, Indigenous knowledge keepers, policymakers and storytellers are all working on the same problem from different ends of the plate, and rarely in the same room. The HATCH FOOD HUB is a standing home for the “HATCH Food 50”, a curated cohort of food-system leaders. It turns a list of remarkable people into a working network, where relationships, needs and resources can find each other between gatherings, not only at them.
What it does
Makes the cohort visible. Each member has a profile with a portrait, a bio, what they're working on and what they're looking for, plus links to their website and LinkedIn. Visitors can filter by field (soil, school food, food justice, capital, policy, story, waste) or search by name, place or idea.
Connects people directly. A Message button on every profile opens a note to that person. Nobody has to wait for an introduction.
Runs an Asks & Offers exchange. A shared library shows what people need (funding, partners, data, distribution) and what they can give (strategy, culinary skill, investment, facilitation). “I can help” and “I'd like this” send a note straight to the person's inbox, and their email address is never shown on the page.
Grows the circle through nominations. The form opens by asking who else needs to be at the table. Members nominate frontline leaders and missing voices, which builds the pipeline for the Food Fellowship.
Gathers what people know. The questionnaire goes past name and title. It asks where value leaks from the food system, what one lever people would pull, what a child should know about food by age twelve, and where reverence for food still survives. The answers become shared insight to design Labs from.
Surfaces ideas. Ideas on the Table presents live threads like the School Food Design Lab and the Food Fellowship, and invites anyone to add their own.
